Diane Hanyok, BS

Diane completed her BS in Nursing in 1982 and is currently pursuing her Mental Health Counseling degree from The Townsend Institute at Concordia University, Irvine. She’s now in her practicum and internship at Rock Your Family Counseling under the supervision of Elena Thomason. LPC.

Diane’s counseling experience is primarily in the mentoring realm and in her years of volunteer work through Compassionate Helps Ministries.  Diane has a heart for Military Families as she lived 21 years as a military spouse with multiple deployments while raising her three children. She now enjoys sweet years as “Grammi”.

She loves her adult children and their spouses (her new children of the heart) and especially loves her spouse of 37 years. She understands that to thrive, one must learn tools for the season. Most of us need a little help with that from time to time, and the Townsend Competence and Character Growth Model is a great model that she looks forward to introducing to her clients.

Diane loves her relationship with God the Father, Son, and Spirit and she appreciates how He’s designed the brain to learn new ways of thinking and acting using the neuroscience understanding which He Himself has given to mankind. God’s creative genius is beyond expression and His love for you is immeasurable.

Diane looks forward to working with individuals and couples, whether you are working through a difficult diagnosis, making end of life decisions, experiencing grief and loss (including coping with a devastating loss), anxiety, depression, marriage conflict or working through other relational problems.  Diane is also equipped to support you through abortion recovery leading to healing and peace.  She is ready to help you set personal boundaries to better strengthen you in healthier relationships and teach you to cope in present situations that might need more clarity.

Diane will join you in your personal story work, being mindful that we can often bring the past into our present situation and through a counseling relationship encourage growth and develop character now and in the future.

Diane has completed all her course work at the Townsend Institute. She has completed levels 1 & 2 training for Gottman Method Couples Therapy which she incorporates into her therapy style. She also completed a basic online course in EFT: Attachment Science in Practice with Sue Johnson.
