Elena Thomason, LPC
Elena is a licensed professional counselor with a Master’s degree in College Student Affairs from Azusa Pacific University and a Masters in Counseling from Colorado Christian University. She spent 15 years working with college students in student life and as a professor and counselor. Her work with college students helped her develop specialties in grief and loss, identity formation, eating disorders, mood disorders, premarital counseling and trauma. In the last several years, she has also begun to develop a passion to see couples grow in their marriages.
Elena views counseling as part of a journey. There are times in life when the path gets rocky, foggy and difficult, and we need help navigating those seasons of life. In these times, it is her hope to provide an authentic and caring environment that will allow her clients to embrace the pain that is a necessary part of change and navigate the difficult seasons of life successfully. Using primarily a cognitive behavioral approach, she takes a holistic view to counseling, looking at all aspects of her clients and their situations.
Elena was born in Mexico, but grew up in sunny southern California. After college, she made her way to Colorado Springs, where she has lived for the past 20 years. She has been married for 16 years and has three wonderfully energetic kids who keep her grounded and daily teach her so much about herself. She loves the ocean but is also continually in awe of the majestic mountains that she gets to call home.
