Emily is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor with a Master’s degree from Colorado Christian University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She maintains a credential as a therapist trained in addiction, and she is also trained in EMDR therapy.

Prior to joining Rock Your Family Counseling, Emily worked as an addiction’s therapist in both Denver and Colorado Springs, working primarily with the criminal justice population addressing substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Emily has experience working with many forms of trauma (sexual, emotional, physical, spiritual) and is passionate about helping people identify how trauma has impacted their beliefs and worldview. She loves to help her clients begin a journey of healing and find hope.

Emily uses an eclectic blend of counseling approaches beginning with a baseline of being trauma informed, addiction trained, and person centered. She is passionate about helping people find truth and walk in freedom from the past with hope for the future.

When not working, Emily can be found exploring the beauty of Colorado, spending time with her awesome family, or sitting down with a good cup of coffee and a book.
