Hank Shuler is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) and a graduate of Colorado Christian University's CACREP-accredited Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. He holds Level 1 and Level 2 certificates in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and is also a Designing Your Life Certified Coach and a certified administrator of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and Strong Interest Inventory.

Prior to joining Rock Your Family, Hank spent several years as a Life Directions Center Advisor at Colorado Christian University, where he walked alongside hundreds of undergraduate students navigating major life transitions, grief, identity questions, and academic challenges. This foundation in holistic student development, combined with his clinical training at the Larry Crabb University Counseling Center, gave him a deep appreciation for how the stories we carry shape the way we experience suffering, relationships, and calling.

Hank is passionate about working with individuals and couples who feel stuck in the middle of a story they didn't choose, whether that's a season of grief, a marriage under strain, anxiety, or the quiet disorientation of a major life change. He believes that healing isn't just about managing symptoms; it's about helping people reconnect with who they are, what they value, and where God is at work in the midst of their pain. He approaches each client with genuine curiosity, warmth, and a commitment to creating a space where hard things can be said and worked through honestly.

Hank's primary therapeutic orientations include narrative therapy, existential therapy, and cognitive-behavioral approaches, which he integrates with faith-informed care tailored to each individual client's needs and background. He has a particular interest in grief and loss and has presented on this topic at the Colorado Counseling Association Conference and the Fourth World Congress of Existential Therapy.

Outside the counseling room, Hank enjoys reading, landscape photography and exploring Colorado's trails with his wife Hayley.
